Our Bridgewater funeral home is family-owned and operated. In 2008, the Prophett family merged their funeral home with Chapman Funerals & Cremations after previously running it from 1860 to 1987. Prophett’s first location was a “store front” funeral home in the center of Bridgewater. Back then, most funerals were conducted from the home of the bereaved, but as times changed, so did we. In the 1940s, the Prophett family relocated their funeral home to 98 Bedford Street (Rt. 18) to best serve the community and stay current with new funeral traditions. Over the years, the funeral home has been renovated, updated, and expanded several times, most recently by the Chapman family. Today, our Prophett Memorial Chapel provides a beautiful space for families to gather in Bridgewater.
A Family Tradition of Caring
Raymond Zeoli purchased the funeral home from the Prophett family in 1987, eventually selling his interest to the Chapman family in 2008.
Directors Mark Chapman, Bill Moore, Maggie Clancy and Rob Corliss have decades of experience in the funeral profession, providing families with a full range of funeral services, insightful estate advice, helpful resources, and heartfelt compassion.
