Chapman Funerals & Cremations at Marstons Mills was established by Jack Tolchinsky and Larry Bennett in June of 1983, then named John-Lawrence Funeral Home. Tolchinsky had moved to Cape Cod from Attleboro, Massachusetts, and Bennett grew up in Hyannis. Together, they created a funeral home where service and affordability were combined with an outstanding memorial environment for families of the communities of Barnstable, Sandwich, and Nantucket.
A Family Tradition of Caring
When Tolchinsky passed away in 1991, Bennett continued to own and operate John-Lawrence Funeral Home until 2012, when it became part of the locally-owned Chapman Funerals family. Directors William B. Chapman, Greg St. Laurent, Michael Drummey, and Pamela Cobb, along with Larry Bennett consider providing families and individuals of all faiths and values with great comfort, dignity, and guidance in their time of need a calling, and passionately serve their communities.
Our elegant, recently-renovated home features beautifully-appointed rooms flexible enough to accommodate large and small families alike. Our visitation rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere of warmth. The John Lawrence Memorial Chapel provides families a beautiful and serene location to gather together to honor their loved ones.
